Rotary Club of Purulia is considered one of the most dynamic Clubs in RI Dist 3291. With an average age of below 35 years, the Club comprises of young achievers from various professions and business domains. More than half of our 50 members have been in Rotaract and have been actively involved in community development projects in Purulia. Diversity in members' profiles is very fascinating at this club - Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Bankers, Legal Experts, Entrepreneurs, Retailers, Manufacturers, Government Officials, to name a few. What brings them together is their strong passion for service to the mankind.

Fellow Rotary Clubs and people of Purulia appreciate its continued efforts to work for betterment of this developing District. For more than 25 years we have been successfully running the Rotary Service Center – now having a 50 bed eye hospital, Adult Education Centers, and also offering community services like Ambulance, Oxygen Cylinder, Polio Vaccination, Free Eye-care etc.

Over the years, the Rotary Club has inspired formation of 3 Rotaract Clubs and 4 Interact Clubs. It has continuously created opportunities for its members to associate with community betterment activities. This certainly helps inspire the youth to be socially responsible citizens. The club also has an active Innerwheel.

The Rotary Club of Purulia takes pride in being associated with several Rotary Clubs worldwide towards matching grants and international projects. The club has 90% PHF and MPHF fellows and its targeting for 100% PHF before July2009.

Since its inception in 1968, the Club has predominantly worked for development of the District and has built a distinct identity for itself amongst people of the town and the Rotary community. Members of Rotary Club of Purulia continuously strive to touch lives of people in need.
