Rotary Club of Purulia arranges Free Eye check-up camps in the interior villages of Purulia and nearby districts from time to time where Free eye check up is done by specialist doctors from Rotary Club of Purulia Service Centre. Such a Camp was organized by Rotary Club of Purulia at the premises of Banjora Panchayat Office, Banjora in association with Bundwan Gram Unnayan Committee, Banjora, Barabazar, in Purulia District. On 9thAugust, 2009 a team of Para-medical staff accompanied by ophthalmologists from Rotary Club of Purulia Service Centre visited the Eye Hospital and examined the patients. A group of Rotarians also accompanied the team to the camp-site assisting them in Registrations and facilitating other arrangements. No of patients examined : 74 No of Patients selected for surgery : 26
This activity of our club is of great help for poor villagers who cannot afford to pay for their treatment. At the same time we find ourselves being able to reach remote corners of the community to provide the much needed services.
