Free Eye Screening Camp : Rotary Club of Purulia arranges Free Eye check-up camps in the interior villages of Purulia and nearby districts from time to time where Free eye check up is done by specialist doctors from Rotary Club of Purulia Service Centre. Such a Camp was organized by Rotary Club of Purulia at the premises of Shankeswar Puram Parasnath Jain Temple in association with Shankeswar Puram Parasnath Jain Trust, Jhapra of Purulia district. On 8th March, 2009 a team of Para-medical staff accompanied by ophthalmologists from Rotary Club of Purulia Service Centre visited the Eye Hospital and examined the patients. A group of Rotarians also accompanied the team to the camp-site assisting them in Registrations and facilitating other arrangements. No of patients examined : 172 No of Patients selected for surgery : 49
This activity of our club is of great help for poor villagers who cannot afford to pay for their treatment. At the same time we find ourselves being able to reach remote corners of the community to provide the much needed services.
