Rotary Club of Purulia has always taken initiative for the development and upliftment of the society. A Table Tennis Tournament was organized in the memory of Late Rtn. Krishna Kishore Hazra, Past President of RC Purulia on 8th and 9th August 2009 at Purulia Club. This programme has been initiated for the benefit of the students / youth basically for the development of our future society. The tournament was inaugurated by Rtn. Tapas Bhattacharya, Chairman District Publications and member of RC Dum Dum. Different eminent personalities of Purulia were also present in the programme.

The tournament covered 5 different categories – Cadets, Sub-junior (Boys), Junior (Boys), Girls and Senior (Men). 110 candidates participated in the tournament. It was a knock-out tournament and the winners of different categories are Agnimitra Birsha Rewani (Cadet), Amar Bauri (Sub-junior), Tirthanath Daripa (Junior), Kabery Nandi (Girls) and Abir Bandhopadhyay (Senior).
